Dental Crowns

Repair A Compromised Tooth with a Dental Crown

At Bal Harbour Smiles, we offer high quality dental crowns to help patients restore strength, function, and beauty to a compromised tooth. Depending upon your needs, a dental crown can also be used to replace a missing tooth when combined with a dental implant. For convenience and versatility, we offer both traditional dental crowns and same-day crowns using our advanced CEREC system. In addition, we offer a variety of crown materials, including full porcelain, zirconia, and metal. Dr. Yudah Ari Benmergui in Miami Beach, FL, has practiced advanced cosmetic and restorative dentistry for over 20 years. After examining your smile, he can determine the most effective treatment plan for you.

About Dental Crowns

A traditional crown, also known as a “cap,” completely encases a damaged tooth, restoring natural form and optimal dental function. Available in a variety of custom enamel shades, porcelain crowns are designed to blend seamlessly with adjacent teeth, complementing your bite and smile.

A dental crown covers the visible surface of a compromised tooth for added strength and protection.

Am I a Candidate?

You may be a candidate for a dental crown if you have:

  • Sustained dental trauma: When a tooth is broken or severely cracked, a crown can conceal the damage and provide renewed structure in addition to full bite strength.
  • Cosmetic flaws: A crown can perform a strictly cosmetic function, effectively masking intrinsic stains, chips and other imperfections.
  • A dental bridge: Crowns placed adjacent to missing teeth can form the basis of a dental bridge, which can fill gaps in your smile.
  • A dental implant: Affixed to a dental implant, a crown is an ideal way to replace a missing tooth.
  • Undergone root canal therapy: If you have a dental infection, we can perform root canal treatment and place a dental crown, preserving the integrity of the tooth.

If you have a damaged tooth that can still be salvaged, we recommend a dental crown over extraction. It is preferable for patients to retain natural teeth and healthy tooth roots whenever possible, and a crown provides the necessary support and structure to allow a compromised tooth to remain in place.

Same-Day Crowns

To ensure the highest quality results, we incorporate advanced technology into our restorative and cosmetic treatments. Using our CEREC system, we can design and fabricate custom crowns in a single visit for patients who qualify. For your comfort, we can take 3-D scans of your smile, which will be sent to our in-house milling machine. This unit can precisely manufacture your crown for accurate and immediate results. Dr. Benmergui is a CEREC Mentor, meaning he has extensive training and experience using our CEREC system. In addition, he has access to the latest technological updates and continuing education so he can provide exceptional care to his patients.

Materials We Offer

Each of our crowns are custom made for durable, comfortable, and long-lasting results. To meet our patients varying needs, we can craft your crown out of:
